It is not a coincidence that the works of three outstanding contemporary artists - Vatroslav Kuliš, Peruško Bogdanić and Ivo Prančić – have been selected for this exhibition. Each of them, in their artistic world, isolated as it seems on the first impression, works systematically and continually on very similar sections of the recent poetological concepts.
Being in constant collusion with their inner emotional and spiritul changes, Kuliš, Prančić and Bogdanić belong to this rare kind of artists who expose their genuine faces to reality. Occasionally, they are more or less stylized and optimistic in terms of gesture and colour, and sometimes the emotion or the gesture is twisted, restrained and frozen, consciously removed from the painting, sculpture or object. But never – so far – have these three artists curried favour with the expectations of broader artistic audience and trendy movements in art, hence they survived this long on demanding Croatian and Slovenian scene.
