Line of Life: Drawings from the holdings of the Collection of Andro Vid Mihičić
The study exhibition entitled Line of Life: Drawings from
the holdings of the Collection of Andro
Vid Mihičić by curator Martinela Mužić will open at the Fritzi Gallery of the
Lošinj Museum on Wednesday, June 7 at 7 p.m. In the legacy of the Lošinj
Museum, as part of the Mihičić Collection, a large number of drawings are
stored, most of which have never been exhibited to the public. These are works
from the once private collection of Andro Vid Mihičić (Beli, Cres, 1896 - Krk,
1992) a writer and a poet, an art historian and a full professor at the Academy
of Fine Arts in Zagreb. The drawings, unknown to the general and professional
public, over 250 works by recognized artists and lesser-known names of Croatian
fine art of the 20th century, were created in a time span of sixty years. A
rich segment of the Collection consists of series of works by Mihičić's
students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb created in 1953, as well as
drawings made by friends, renowned Croatian artists of the last century.
