The exhibition "Underwater archaeological sites in the Lošinj archipelago" was created as a result of years of systematic survey (reconnaissance) of underwater in the Lošinj archipelago. The reconnaissance of uderwater in the Lošinj-Cres archipelago began in 2008 as a collaboration between the Lošinj Museum and the Department of Underwater Archaeology of the Croatian Conservation Institute, including the diving centre of the Special Police unit of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia from Mali Lošinj. The project was carried in the normal course of the Reconnaissance of Kvarner project led by the Department of Underwater Archaeology of the Croatian Conservation Institute. The systematic survey included, apart from the underwater of the islands of Cres and Lošinj, the area wit the adjacent islands and reefs, (Susak, Unije, Zabodarski, Oruda, Palacol, Vele Orjule and the Bik reef).
