Exhibition of painter and graphic artist Mirna Sišul "Colorful world"
Lošinj museum, in Fritzi Gallery, on September 20th, at 8 pm, opens an solo exhibition of painter and graphic artist Mirna Sišul. Having regard to the effectiveness of her artistic expression, uninhibited passion and continuity of professional work, the painter and graphic artist Mirna Sišul has been one of the prominent personalities of the Croatian art scene for several years. Through auto-referential exploration of painting, the artist creates irreal narratives with real, true values of reality that intertwine with those dreamlike. Colouristic seductiveness and ludic appeal seem to be dominant, but every new insight confirms the stratification that is already in operation. In variations on the theme of love, nature and happiness, Mirna plays with visual and linguistic characters whose codes are simultaneously hidden and revealed. The aesthetic experience of every view becomes an emotional experience of the painting, but also a mystery that lies between seeing and observing. Radiant energy in her works does not appear as a painting chaos; it creates harmony in the spontaneity of author’s consciously created cosmos. In her art Mirna combines various techniques, using acrylic, charcoal, pencil, wooden crayons, pastel pens or colour chalk, thus connecting coloured surfaces with drawings and collages. Mirna creates her works inspired by music; it is integrated in her work, giving it direction. Through poetic expression she creates a recognizable visual landscape as a mirror of identity. Passionate as a child, she lets her inner rhythm flow out while carrying the sky of imagination in herself
Mirna Sišul was born in Rijeka in 1977. She is a freelance artist who graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka.
