Dubravka Babić
FROM THE CATALOGUE
New cycles of acrylics created during 2005 only partially designate the cut in the continuity of recognizable features in the artistic work of this eminent graphic artist and painter. After longtime varying of ‘’Koride’’ (‘Bullfights’) theme, by which she had laid down new standards in Croatian art referring to the presentation of animalistic themes and movements in painting, Dubravka Babić has merely changed the field of motifs of her own artistic search for new challenges. Nature, landscapes and flowers are now shockingly new, being unexpected subjects of her interest: acrylics and coal in big-sizes, immense fields of flowers, changes of seasons, colourful meadows are now extending instead of bullfights.
