Andrea Staničić - "Between Worlds"
The exhibition of Andrea Staničić entitled “Between Worlds” opens at the Fritzi Gallery in Mali Lošinj on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 8 p.m.
In her body of work the artist explores the process of creating a work of art. Namely, an artist views the process of creating as most essential; no matter whether the artist has a precise idea or a vague vision, a finished work of art has always been the result of a painstaking exploration and quest. Therefore, the works of Andrea Staničić represent a survey of its kind: through a combination of different techniques and motifs, such as computer graphics and oil paintings, Andrea Staničić questions the relationships between the real and virtual, figurative and abstract, traditional and contemporary. The exhibition shows works from her 3 cycles entitled “Between Worlds”, “Borders” and “Peep”, created from 2013 to 2016. Although in different forms and contents, all three cycles talk about issues that both artists and art theorists are preoccupied with: the border areas between style and perception, the interrelationship between art processes and contents and their effect on our perception.
